Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth
The Museum of Ancient Corinth was built in 1932 to house the numerous objects brought to light by the archaeological excavations. Its construction was undertaken by the American School of Classical Studies, thanks to a donation of Ada Small Moore.
The building was designed by Stuart Thompson, following the architectural model of the “Chicago school”. The west wing was added later, in 1951. Museum spaces were organized around two atriums, which give a unique character to the building.
Lake Doxa
Lake Doxa (Greek: Λίμνη Δόξα, romanized: Limni Doxa) is an artificial lake in western Corinthia, Greece. It is situated at an elevation of 900 m, in the municipal unit Feneos, near the village Archaia Feneos. Construction was completed in the late 1990s. It is fed and drained by the small river Doxa (Δόξα), which empties into the plain of Feneos. In the heart of the lake on a small peninsula features a small church of Agios Fanourios. The Saint George Monastery in Feneos was relocated to higher ground, north of the lake. The lake is surrounded by pine forests.

Corinth Canal
The Corinth Canal is a famous waterway located in Greece, connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth, effectively separating the Peloponnese peninsula from the Greek mainland. The canal is a significant engineering achievement, as it allows ships to navigate between the Ionian and Aegean Seas without having to circumnavigate the Peloponnese peninsula, saving considerable time and distance.
Ancient Nemea
The archaeological site of Nemea is emblematic due to the organisation of the Nemean Games in antiquity. The site includes the sport roots of Europe and the ideals of classical sports as an element for the comprehensive education of young people. The first Panhellenic Nemean games took place in 573 BC on a two years basis. In mythology, Hercules’s victory against the lion of Nemea, often found in ancient Greek art and literature, inextricably connects the hero with the site. The Archaeological Site of Nemea is a complex of well-preserved and exhibited archaeological remains, emblematic due to Nemean Sports Games.
